1. What this platform is

CLC Live Auction is an online offer platform operated by Columbus Luxury Cars LLC ("CLC," "we"). It uses an auction-style countdown format to collect competing purchase offers on vehicles in our retail inventory. It is not a public auction conducted by a licensed auctioneer, and no sale occurs automatically at the close of a countdown. Every bid is an offer to purchase that CLC may accept or decline in its sole discretion.

2. Bids are binding offers

When you place a bid or use Buy It Now, you make a genuine, binding offer to purchase that vehicle at that price. Do not bid on a vehicle you do not intend to buy. If CLC accepts your offer, you agree to complete the purchase at our dealership within 48 hours (or another time we agree on by phone). Repeated failure to honor winning offers will result in account suspension.

3. Reserve prices

Most vehicles carry a hidden reserve (our floor price). If the highest offer at close is below reserve, no sale results and the vehicle may relist. The site shows whether the reserve has been met.

4. Countdown and bid-war soft close (anti-sniping)

Each listing shows a countdown; listings close on a rolling schedule throughout the week. Any bid placed in the final 5 minutes automatically resets that listing's countdown to 5 minutes, so a live bidding war continues until no competing bid arrives within the window. Every bidder is fairly notified by email (and text, if opted in) when outbid. Countdowns, start times, and end times may be adjusted by CLC.

4a. Automatic (proxy) bidding

When you bid, you submit the maximum you are willing to offer. The platform automatically bids on your behalf in minimum increments — only as much as needed to keep you the high bidder, never exceeding your maximum. Your maximum is confidential and is not displayed to other bidders or to CLC sales staff. If another bidder's maximum exceeds yours, you will be outbid and notified by email. Your maximum remains a binding offer up to that amount until the listing closes.

5. Buy It Now

Buy It Now submits an offer at the listed retail price and closes the countdown immediately. It has priority over all lower bids, subject to dealer confirmation.

5a. Columbus Luxury Protection Package

Nearly every vehicle sold by CLC carries the Columbus Luxury Protection Package — exterior paint and interior protection and the Valvoline package — which has already been applied to the vehicle prior to sale and is not optional on vehicles where it is installed. The package costs $2,000 ($1,000 exterior paint & interior protection + $1,000 Valvoline package) and is in addition to the bid or Buy It Now amount, as itemized in the dealer disclosure on each listing and on your purchase agreement. Dealer preparation (100-point inspection, oil change, fluid top-off, wiper and tire check) is included with delivery. Ask us about optional extended warranties and service contracts.

5b. 3-Day Worry-Free Return

We stand behind every car. You may return a purchased vehicle within 3 calendar days of delivery or 300 miles driven, whichever comes first, for a refund of the vehicle price, subject to ALL of the following conditions:

  • The vehicle is returned in the same condition as delivered — no damage, alterations, removed equipment, liens, or smoking/pet odors; normal test-mileage wear excepted.
  • A 10% restocking fee (10% of the vehicle purchase price) is deducted, covering cleaning, detailing, re-inspection, and the mileage added to the vehicle.
  • Documentation fees, title/registration fees already remitted, and aftermarket products or services already performed are non-refundable. Taxes are refunded as permitted by the State of Ohio.
  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method within 10 business days after the vehicle passes return inspection. Financed deals are unwound with the lender; trade-ins are returned if still in our possession, otherwise their allowance is refunded.
  • The return option is void if the vehicle is driven over 300 miles, involved in any accident, ticketed, impounded, or used commercially.

This is a voluntary dealer policy and is in addition to any rights Ohio law provides. Ohio has no statutory "cooling-off" right for vehicle purchases — this policy exists because we want you confident, not trapped.

5c. CLC Asset Protection Plan (optional coverage)

At the time of bidding or purchase you may add an optional vehicle service contract at the following prices, added to the final sale price. These are service contracts, not warranties; all vehicles are sold AS-IS as reflected on the FTC Buyers Guide displayed on the vehicle.

  • Vehicle Service Contract — 3 months / 3,000 miles (whichever comes first): $500
  • Vehicle Service Contract — 1 year / 12,000 miles: $1,195
  • Vehicle Service Contract — 2 years / 24,000 miles: $2,195
  • Vehicle Service Contract — 3 years / 36,000 miles: $3,195

Coverage terms, exclusions, deductibles, and claim procedures are stated in the written service-contract document provided at signing, which controls over this summary. If you decline coverage, all post-sale repairs are your responsibility. Your selection made while bidding is a request; it is confirmed and executed with your purchase paperwork at the dealership.

6. Acceptance happens at the dealership

A winning bid at close (at or above reserve) or a Buy It Now creates a pending sale. A CLC representative will contact you to confirm. The purchase and sale is only complete when a retail purchase agreement is signed at our dealership and all Ohio title, tax, and documentation requirements are satisfied. Until then, no contract of sale exists and the vehicle remains available to CLC.

7. Price, taxes, and fees

Bid and Buy It Now amounts are the vehicle price only. Ohio sales tax, title, registration, and documentary service charges (as capped by Ohio law) are additional and itemized on your purchase agreement.

8. Vehicle condition — inspect before you buy

Vehicles are used and, unless a written warranty is expressly provided on the FTC Buyers Guide displayed on the vehicle, are sold AS-IS per the Buyers Guide. Every vehicle receives a 100-point inspection, fresh oil change, fluid top-off, and wiper/tire check before delivery. We encourage you to inspect and test-drive any vehicle at 4880 Sinclair Rd before or after winning and before signing — you are never obligated to complete a purchase before seeing the vehicle in person. CARFAX reports are provided where available. Photos and descriptions are for convenience and are not a substitute for personal inspection.

9. Financing

Submitting the financing form is a request to be contacted about financing options; it is not a credit application, does not guarantee approval, and does not affect your credit score. Formal credit applications are completed securely with a finance manager. Financing is offered through third-party lenders on approved credit. Payment-calculator figures are estimates for convenience only, are not an offer or approval of credit, and exclude tax, title, and fees; your actual rate and payment depend on lender approval.

9a. Text-message alerts

If you opt in at registration, we send you automated transactional text messages about your own auction activity (outbid alerts, win confirmations, purchase updates) from Columbus Luxury Cars. Message and data rates may apply; message frequency varies with your bidding activity. Reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for help. Opting out does not affect your ability to bid; alerts continue by email.

9b. Pre-purchase inspections

Optional professional pre-purchase inspections are performed for a fee by Blackstone Complete Auto Care LLC (4800 Sinclair Rd, Columbus, OH), a business affiliated with Columbus Luxury Cars through common ownership. Inspection reports are provided for information; they do not create a warranty and do not replace your own inspection and judgment. Free in-person inspection at the dealership is always available before purchase.

9c. Value references

"Advertised retail" and any savings figures shown compare the current bid to the vehicle's advertised retail price on columbusluxurycars.com. They are marketing references, not appraisals or guarantees of market value.

10. Registration and conduct

You must be 18+ with accurate contact information to bid. One account per person. Shill bidding, bid manipulation, or interference with the platform is prohibited. CLC employees and their household members may not bid. CLC may cancel bids, remove listings, correct errors (including pricing errors), and suspend accounts to keep the platform fair.

10a. Bidder verification and reservation deposit

To keep every bid serious, CLC may require bidders to place a valid credit or debit card securely on file through our dealer management system (DealerCenter) before bidding is activated. Card details are entered only on DealerCenter's secure payment page and are never collected or stored by this website. Where a reservation deposit is authorized, it is refundable: it is applied toward your purchase if you win, and released/refunded if you do not. A deposit may be retained as liquidated damages — and not as a penalty — only if you win an auction (or use Buy It Now) and then fail to complete the purchase within 48 hours without cause. Any deposit amount and these conditions are shown at the time of card entry.

11. Errors and availability

Inventory can sell in-store at any time; a listing may be withdrawn even mid-countdown if the vehicle sells at the dealership, is found to need repair, or contains a listing error. If that happens, all offers on that listing are void.

12. Limitation

The platform is provided "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by Ohio law, CLC is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the platform. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Ohio consumer law that cannot be waived.

12a. Website disclaimer — accuracy, errors & third parties

Vehicle descriptions, photos, specifications, mileage, history reports, and prices are provided in good faith from dealer records and third-party sources (including CARFAX) and are believed accurate but not guaranteed. Typographical, data-feed, or pricing errors, and vehicles sold prior to listing update, are subject to correction or withdrawal without liability; if an error affects an accepted offer, your sole remedy is cancellation and refund of any amounts paid. Estimated payments, savings comparisons, and value references are marketing tools, not appraisals or credit offers. Links to third-party sites (CARFAX, lenders, Blackstone Complete Auto Care) are provided for convenience; CLC is not responsible for their content. Communications sent through this site (chat, text, WhatsApp, forms) are routed to dealership systems and staff and may be recorded or logged for quality and follow-up. This site is intended for consumers in the United States, age 18+.
